PERFORMANCE AND MOVEMENT- We will follow the TEA's Performance and Movement TEKS in Music class

  • We will continue Grade Level Performances

  • Students get a chance to perform for each other in Music Class

  • We will also do our Annual 5th Grade Boone Talent Show

  • In Music we will sing, play instruments, do body percussion as well as move our bodies to the beat

  • We will learn about dance and music from other cultures and explore movement doing dance when appropriate

MUSIC HISTORY- We will follow the TEA's Music History/Appreciation TEKS in Music Class​

K-2nd

  • Learn about the lives of famous composers

  • Learn about music from around the world

  • Learn about and also identify the different instruments in each instrument family of the classical symphony as well as instruments from around the world

  • Learn about world music instruments

3rd-5th

  • Learn how the famous composers they have learned about fit into the world music timeline

  • Build on our knowledge of instruments within the traditional symphony orchestra, current popular music, as well as other instruments from around the world

  • Learn about music from all 7 continents

  • Explore how when people move or migrate to new places they take their music and culture with them

  • Learn how people have used music throughout history to make life better for those experiencing it
